Critically Important: Where Do We Go Now?

Episode Summary

To say that things have changed dramatically since our last episode would be a tremendous understatement. Which is why, in what is an incredibly uncertain time for the movie and entertainment industries (and the world as a whole), we've invited Movieweb's Ryan Scott (@ryanscottwrites on Twitter) to help us discuss where movie studios go from here; if VOD is the future and theatrical windows will become a thing of the past; and what we think (and hope) will happen to the movie theater experience once the dust settles. We also all recommend some of our favorite movies and shows to watch if you're looking for entertainment to keep you distracted and occupied during our time of quarantines and self-distancing. Episode Notes

The Fast Three: To start off the episode, we get to know Ryan by asking him a few rapid fire movie questions.

Where Do We Go Now?: During this great time of uncertainty in the movie industry, we discuss what we think will happen to some of the releases that were postponed due to the Coronavirus; if VOD could possibly become the future of movie-going; if we can say "bye-bye" to theatrical windows as we know them; debate how movie theaters will recover in a post COVID-19 world; and discuss which movies should still head to theaters and which would be better off heading to streaming services.

Quarantine Recommendations: Jason, Mallory, Espo and Ryan each say what they've been watching during this period of self-distancing, as well as recommend movies and shows that you can watch if you're desperately in need of something to entertain you in this time of isolation.
